Darrell started out on Radio aged 15, he went on to work for Active FM in Essex and then went to the BBC. In fact, he’s a published author having written The Encyclopedia of Rock ‘n’ Roll and is a resident expert on AllExperts.com. In his spare time he loves to make silk flowers, help old ladies across the road and knit balaclavas for underprivileged bank robbers!
	Dave Ellis WAKE UP WITH DAVE PRESENTING 'VERULAM'S EARLY RISERS' PROGRAMME. EVERY WEEKDAY MORNING FROM 7AM. On Saturday Dave is on the Soultrain bringing you classic soul through from 5pm until 8pm". Dave has many years of experience in the industry, joining Verulam in 2004. As a St Albans resident for over 20 years, Dave specialises in entertaining local news items. 	Tom Fallon TOM ON SUNDAY EVENING FROM 9PM. Tom grew up in Boston and you can tell from his thick Boston accent! His first taste at radio was at Boston's Northeastern University at WRBB (Radio Back Bay). His passion for all the great music from the 1950's through today is evident from his vast music collection. With special weekly features and guest interviews to keep you amused if not entertained and a little more informed than the none listener. 	Elspeth Jackman ELSPETH PRESENTING FAITH ALIVE ON SUNDAY BETWEEN MIDDAY UNTIL 2PM. A children's librarian and writer, Elspeth edged into local radio until she was full time free -lance at Radio Leicester where she enjoyed her annual interview with Sir Cliff ! Headhunted for her voice by Nottingham's Trent FM, her disasters there included being more-or-less drummed out of Buckingham Palace after annoying HRH the Duke of Edinburgh while interviewing him. High moments included writing Dale Winton into one of her children's radio dramas. Her varied local radio life included news reading, reporting, producing and presenting a Christian programme, and creating a children's half hour called Conkers ! Other colourful careers have woven their way into her life, like leading pre-school music groups of up to 500 chlldren per week; painting in water colours and oils on commission; teaching piano and all that goes with being a wife and mum. She loves life and loves God and is now thrilled to revive her radio skills in St.Albans, gathering ideas as she tackles the weeds in her large garden.
	Len Jones LEN'S SWINGING SUNDAY SHOW "BIG BAND & JAZZ MUSIC" RUNS FROM 4PM. This is a popular show for those in the know on the Jazz Scene. Len is a top line old hand at the business. Len shares with you some of his favourite artists including Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, and Artie Shaw. He was also a bit of a pirate radio fan in the 60's, Radio 390 and Britain Radio in particular.
	Ashlyn Kaye ASHLYN PRESENTS 'SATURDAY AFTERNOON' FROM 4PM - 6PM. This is a cool mix of polular music,unusual interviews, ‘your weekend’ and competitions. Ashlyn started as a club DJ in Europe Ashlyn then became a popular radio presenter on BFN in Hamburg, Germany. Joining us in 2001 Ashlyn presented a regular evening programme, and also took part in our lively outside broadcasts and events around the county. “Sweet and easy to listen to” that’s Ashlyn Kaye. 	Warren Knight WARREN JAZZ PRESENTER & MUSCIAN BRINGS YOU 'AFTERNOON FAVOURITES' FROM 2PM UNTIL 4PM ON TUESDAY & FRIDAY. Enjoy the company of Warren and his fine collection of jazz tunes. “My main music influence was Willis Conover’s of Voice of America Music USA which broadcast in the mid 60’s; what a fantastic guy he knew everything about jazz at that time. In the early 70,s I began some broadcasting in the Big Band and Main Stream Jazz genre. In the mid 70’s I was introduced to modern jazz big band and small combos. One of the great gigs was at the Royal festival Hall, the main bill was the Gill Evans Orchestra supported by the Stan Tracy Sextet. Always off to find as much music as I can listen too by the early 90's I found smooth cool bay Jazz. I now have a very large Jazz track collection approaching some 300,000 tracks. Now looking at Louisiana swamp music which I do play on the show.” Warren also presents the "Jazz & Funk Mix Lounge" on Friday from 7pm - 8pm Playing Funky Modern/Mainstream Jazz, Latin Jazz, Blues, R & B, Soul, Fussion & Smooth Cool Bay. 	Jane Milligan Jane has a vast background in the Theatre and Film Industries. As an actress, singer and musician she has, walked the boards, sung at the Albert Hall and appeared in films. In 1984 she became a sound engineer mixing West End shows, such as Phantom of the Opera and Miss Saigon to name but a few. Jane also works with and supports the Chicken Shed Theatre Company. 	Jonathan Reynolds JONATHAN TAKES OVER THE CONTROLS FROM MIDDAY WITH HIS WEEK DAY SHOW 'LUNCH TIME LIVE' UP UNTIL 2PM. Jonathan joined Radio Verulam in 2005 when we were just on Cable and internet presenting regular late night shows. His 'Lunchtime Live' show has many features and deals with subjects such as, local gardening, hobbies, leisure, market days and local politics. Jonathan, who is also a Director, has a great love of music and brings his very own unique collection of music to the station to add a personal flavour to the show.
	Phil Richards PHIL RICHARDS KEEPS YOU COMPANY IN THE MORNING PRESENTING 'VERULAM AM' WEEKDAYS FROM 8AM UNTIL 12PM. Along with his regular morning shows, he is our Station Manager looking after programmes and the day to day running of the station along with Clive Glover. Phil has a well established career in the industry, he spent many years working for the BBC and Three Counties Radio. Phil also presented on Radio Harmony, Mercury FM and Oasis Radio. Shows included ‘The Beat’ and ‘Focus’. Phil also presents the weekend early shows from 8am. Phil is a Director and is also Head of Sales. 	Emperor Rosko THE EMPEROR ROSKO IS ON THE AIRWAVES OF RADIO VERULAM SATURDAY NIGHTS FROM 10PM. Bringing you his unique broadcasting style famous since the 1960's. Great Britain's rock-famished listeners tuned in to Radio Caroline, where Emperor Rosko was the "highly rated, often imitated, but rarely duplicated mayor of mayhem." "We liberated England", says the former "toe-tapping, hand-clapping, lean, mean record machine" now living a quieter existence Stateside at his ranch in Calabasas, a semi-rural area north of Los Angeles. There, Emperor Rosko is known by his given name, Michael Pasternak. Beginning at Radio Caroline and going on to Radio One, Emperor Rosko was the toast of Swinging London. He was also the first in Europe to take records on the road with lighting and invented the mobile DJ business.
	Jonny Seabrook 'JONNY'S SUNDAY AFTERNOON'. JOIN HIM BETWEEN 2PM & 4PM EVERY SUNDAY. Some of the show favourites include Attractive Attraction, ‘Who am I? and the Big Floppy Hit'. Jonny Seabrook has been broadcasting over the years on International Radio stations as far away as New Zealand. He started out in radio at the world famous Guys and St Thomas’ hospitals in London. He moved onto Forces Radio, broadcasting in Britain and around the world. Jonny has also presented shows across Europe as well as being heard on various internet stations and in his prime worked as a DJ on the London night club scene. 	Danny Smith DANNY PRESENTS RADIO VERULAM'S WEST HERTS EVENING SHOW EVERY FRIDAY FROM 4PM. Whilst Danny is new to radio he has been DJing for over 15 years, starting out in nightclubs in his home town of Plymouth and progressing to universities, festivals, bars and clubs throughout the UK. He has worked with some big names, contributing to the radio shows of Jonathan Ross, Steve Wright and recently appearing at a university graduation ball with Radio 1's "Chappers & Dave". He can also be seen DJing at various bars around St Albans and at many private functions. When he is not DJing, Danny runs a local Boys' Brigade group working with children and young people aged 5 - 18. Aside from music, Danny's interests include yoga, keep fit, running, fine art, rare Cornish poetry and making up lies for biographies! He also has visiting 'guest enthusiasts' just to add even more of those facts that we'd all forgotten so long ago. His Programme is run to a tight format as shown below: 9-00 – 9-45: Flashback 45RPM, 45 minutes of music and news stories from decades spanning the 1950’s through to the new millennium. 0945 – 10-00: Value a Disc and a Lying Lyric. 10-00 – 10-30: Yesterday Today, the artists and their music, what is happening to them today. TV review and a brief biography where I look at the history of artists/groups. 10-30 – 11-00: Music in the News, playing songs that have connections with the week’s news stories. 11-00: Kids Corner, Children’s songs and tunes from years gone by.
